Our Programs at Quaker Meadows
Just some of the activities our members support and/or participate in. We invite others to join in with us as we have fun while serving out our mission in Christ's name.

We participate in a local church collaborative with Methodist and AME congregations to provide support and encouragement to grandparents in Burke County raising grandchildren and encouragement to Oak Hill Elementary School and its principal and teachers.
We are part of the Backpack Ministry of Table Rock Middle School which provides food on a weekly basis for 5 children.
Bring Harvest Home – This is a local cooperative ministry with Table Rock Middle School to provide food to needy children and their families during Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter breaks.
Burke Hospice & Palliative Care (www.burkehospice.org) – Each month we collect and deliver to the local hospice facility various food items to provide snack and breakfast options for families who have a loved one receiving care.
The Henry Harney Scholarship Fund is an educational fund which is used to subsidize the cost of a college education for local students. Recipients are not required to be members of our congregation but they must complete an application and are assessed by a committee each time they apply for the support.
Operation Christmas Child is an international ministry sponsored by www.samaritanspurse.org to ship a Christmas shoebox filled with a variety of health care items, school supplies and toys, for a boy or girl who is less fortunate. In each of the last three years, we have filled 50 boxes.
We have two women's circles. One meets on the second Monday morning of most months and the other meets on the fourth Monday of most months in the evening. The women of these circles participate in and provide support for many of the mission projects listed in this section and more.
We also regularly send financial support to: Black Mountain Home for Children, Youth and Families; Grandfather Home for Children; The Joy Gift Offering (providing critical financial assistance to qualified retired church workers and ethnic leadership development) and the One Great of Sharing Offering (providing financial support to those affected by natural disasters, food to the hungry, and helping to empower the poor and oppressed).
Soon we hope to have a Blessing Box in our parking lot to provide food and personal hygiene items for those in need in our community.
